Application for 2024 NVHG Vienna Thanksgiving Weekend Show

The NVHG Thanksgiving weekend show is a long-standing show run by the Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild at the Vienna Community Center in Vienna, Virginia. Founded in 1972, the NVHG, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, sponsors juried art and crafts shows to help artists and craftspeople exhibit and sell their work, provides educational programs and knowledge exchange opportunities for its members, and engages in a variety of community service projects.

The show offers original, handmade arts and crafts, including jewelry; fused, etched, painted, and stained glass; ceramics and pottery; sculpture; woodworking; hand-weaving; paintings, drawings, and etchings; mixed media; fiber and textiles; leather; photography; paper; basketry; metal craft; soaps and candles; and other crafts.

We do not accept food products, heavily fragranced products, floral arrangements, or body lotions. Artists must certify that they hand-craft all their products and that they are not selling any commercially made products. The NVHG reserves the right to remove from the show, without refund, any exhibitor who falsely certifies that their products are their hand-made work

Volunteer to bring snacks (cookies, fruit, cake, donuts, etc.) for vendors (We have a hospitality area for vendors)

Volunteer to oversee the clean-up at the end of the show

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Requests for cancellation must be made in writing (e-mails are acceptable, as long as you receive a confirmation of your request) to the show co-chairs. If you cancel before November 1, your booth fee will be refunded in full (minus the credit card processing fee). If you cancel after November 1, and your booth is subsequently filled, and the show is full, you will receive a full refund (minus the credit card processing fee). If you cancel after November 1, and your booth is not filled, you will not receive a refund unless you cancel for a medical or family emergency, in which case the show co-chairs have the discretion to determine the appropriate amount of the refund. If NVHG cancels the show, all payments will be refunded.

CERTIFICATION AND LIABILITY CLAUSE

I certify that I have read and understand the rules and regulations set forth in this application and agreed to abide by them. I understand that I may only display merchandise of the type covered by my application and approved by the NVHG Standards Committee. If I display non-approved merchandise and refuse to remove said items, I understand that I may be asked to remove my display from the show and/or not be allowed to participate in future NVHG shows.

I understand that I am an independent party and am solely responsible for my exhibitor space, items, and operation and that the Vienna Community Center and the NVHG is only providing a place to allow me to conduct my business. I agree to bear the liability of any loss, claim or damages of any kind or nature for which I am responsible in connection with this show. I hereby release the NVHG and the Vienna Community Center, their agents, employees, representatives, and volunteers from and against any and all liabilities, loss, claims, costs, or damages of any kind or nature arising out of or in connections with this show. I give permission to use my photos for publicity purposes. I agree to participate in the volunteer activities that are required to promote the show and contribute to its success.

I agree to abide by all laws and requirements of the State of Virginia and Fairfax County pertinent to this show, including, but not limited to, any Covid-19 and other heath restrictions.
