B H Ceramics Inc has been operating since 2020. As the artist/owner of the company I have been actively involved in cast ceramics since approximately 1968. I first learned cast ceramics at a small craft shop in Keystone, WV. During that period of time I assisted with classes for grade school and high school students in the local community. I became the Director for the Ceramics Shop at Eastern Associated Coal Camp and worked with campers and counselors teaching ceramics during the summer.

My name is Charles Cheek. I am an archaeologist and potter. My main areas of professional interest are the Mayan culture of Mesoamerica and urban historical archaeology. I had a long-term interest in pottery as an archaeologist. What can pottery tell us about the past and the people that used and made the pottery?
