Clay-Pottery-Ceramics, Fiber and Fabric Arts
Ceramic figurines and ornaments are handmade (Slip cast in mostly vintage molds, acquired over the the last 20 years at estate sales) then motive or writings are cut in moist green ware- then fired in my kiln. The bisque is then either hand painted ( I mix my own colors to achieve the old world look) antiqued and varnished or glazed with non toxic glaze and fired again.I have always been a fiber enthusiast and love knitting, needle and nuno felting in 2005 we started our Suri Llama/Alpaca herd, which grew over the years to 45 strong.
I attended numerous workshops at Llama conventions and at the Mannings in PA to perfect my skills in carding, spinning, felting and natural dyes.I love making those fiber creations , its like painting with water colors, using my very own shearings. I only use baby Llama/Alpaca prime first year fiber and dye some of those precious locks in natural dyes.
